Instructed by Sepsis Coordinator, Lauren Baca, the course will cover early identification of clinical warning signs and early initiation of treatment, which are keys to reducing death from this common syndrome. This presentation will provide an overview of the disease continuum of sepsis and highlight the often subtle indicators of SIRS (Systemic Inflammatory Response Syndrome) that can help nurses to identify patients in the early stage of sepsis, therefore halting the progression and reducing the patient's risk of subsequent organ failure and ultimately death. The latest evidence-based practice guidelines will be reviewed.
RN continuing education credits for RN's successfully completing course with score of 80% or higher on exam at conclusion of course.
