  • AMERICAN HEART ASSOCIATION CLASSES
    • ACLS Renewal
      The American Heart Association requires each student to come to the course with the following materials: 1. You must have a current textbook (The new 2020 ACLS for Healthcare Providers booklet). A limited number of books are available from our lending library in the Clinical Education office ( 4 floor, HGMC) or from Amin. at HGMC). 2. You must also bring a copy of your AHA ACLS pre-test with a score of 70% or higher. To take pre-test go to: eLearning.heart.org.. Next select ACLS from course list and then complete the module titled: ACLS Precourse Self-Assessment ( course code KJ-1480). >>>Please bring your pretest, textbook, AHA card, and employee badge to this class.

  • NURSING SKILLS
    • Basic Arrhythmia
      This class is for RN's, LVN's and MO's who have the responsibility of interpreting cardiac rhythms and identifying disturbances. There will be a review of sample rhythms and a rhythm identification exam will be given at the conclusion of the class.

    • Code Sepsis
      Instructed by Sepsis Coordinator, Lauren Baca, the course will cover early identification of clinical warning signs and early initiation of treatment, which are keys to reducing death from this common syndrome. This presentation will provide an overview of the disease continuum of sepsis and highlight the often subtle indicators of SIRS (Systemic Inflammatory Response Syndrome) that can help nurses to identify patients in the early stage of sepsis, therefore halting the progression and reducing the patient's risk of subsequent organ failure and ultimately death. The latest evidence-based practice guidelines will be reviewed. RN continuing education credits for RN's successfully completing course with score of 80% or higher on exam at conclusion of course.

      This class will cover Workplace Violence, Crisis Management, Active Shooter, and Code Gray. ALL Emergency Dept., Security and Patient Sitters to take class annually.
